The Season of Gathering

The holidays are upon us and the times of gathering with friends and family are here. So many of us look forward to the holidays and spending time with the ones we love and cherish. These seasons are meant for the unity of those around us and often this is all happening right under our own roofs. Is your home ready for this year’s parade of friends and family?

Here are 10 ways to get ready for the holidays ahead:

  1. Cleaning:
Keeping your home clean regularly will make this step extremely easy, but it is easy to get behind on your dusting a mopping duties if you live a busy high demand lifestyle. We highly recommend not skipping this step of holiday prep, your guest will appreciate your clean and tidy home, we promise!
  2. Reduce Clutter:
This is going to be most important on your table tops. Your guest are going to need somewhere to set their glasses and plates, reducing clutter will also make the space feel more open and inviting.
  3. Get a Christmas tree:
If you don’t already have one, get one. A holiday party is not complete without a decorated tree lit up somewhere in your home.
  4. Decorating:
The Christmas tree is just the first step of the decorating process. Decorating for the season can get expensive, but you better believe it can be done on a budget. Some simple seasonal plants can give you the right look and feel.
  5. Start stocking up on wine and spirits:
Better now than never to start stocking up on some wine and spirits for your party, wouldn’t want your guest to go thirsty.
  6. Snacks!!
This is actually everyone’s favorite part of the holidays, grazing over a buffet of fantastic food options is what make an okay party a great party.
  7. Party Supplies:
Your essentials are going to be plates, napkins, cups, and plastic wear, unless you wish to go a little classier and choose to go with glasses and silver wear.
  8. Have a camera on hand:
Getting some great snap shots to remember your great party will go a long way in the future when you want to look back and remember those great nights.
  9. Have a rug at all entry doors:
Most guest aren’t going to want to take off their shoes. Having a rug for them to wipe their feet off with save you time and trouble later on when you are cleaning up after your party.
  10. Light up the front of the house:
At the very least have your outside lighting on for your guest to enter the home, but if it’s your style go full Clark Griswald.
